The founder of the Congressional Tea Party Caucus and highly skilled gadfly decided to abandon her campaign for House Republican Conference chair after scores of Republicans revealed that they don’t want to put their most extreme face forward. She threw her support to Texas Representative Jeb Hensarling, who has a similarly conservative bent but is less prone to saying things like Democrats should be investigated for “un-American” activities.
