The Justice Department is investigating whether former U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell violated federal law by using campaign funds for rent, meals and other personal expenses. O’Donnell blamed Joe Biden for this, naturally: “Given that the king of the Delaware political establishment just so happens to be the vice president of the most liberal presidential administration in U.S. history, it is no surprise that misuse and abuse of the FBI would not be off the table,” she said. Previously, however, she has copped to using campaign funds to pay rent on her townhouse, saying it doubled as her campaign headquarters. O’Donnell raised $7.3 million for her campaign this year, and reportedly had $925,000 left in the bank in the middle of November. And it only cost her all her shame to raise that money. [WP]
