In response to Julian Assange’s telling Time that “if it can be shown that [Hillary Clinton] was responsible for ordering U.S. diplomatic figures to engage in espionage in the United Nations, she should resign,” State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley said that Clinton did not order State Department staff to spy on United Nations diplomats, as suggested by a diplomatic cable published by WikiLeaks: “This is ridiculous and ill-informed.” Crowley added that all the trash talk Ass-ange leaked only proves how hard diplomats are actually working:
