Columbia Political Science professor David Epstein was charged with incest, having allegedly maintained a sexual relationship for three years with someone the Daily News vaguely (and redundantly?) identifies as “a female relative.” But the Columbia Spectator reports that that the female relative is his daughter and that the relationship appears to have been consensual, according to the NYPD. (This sort of thing is best kept in Gossip Girl’s Columbia with Serena and Dan.) Epstein is now on administrative leave and not teaching students. If we were Columbia’s PR team, we’d start drawing attention right back to undergraduate campus crime and that comparatively adorable scandal “Operation Ivy.” [NYDN]
