Fans of John Lennon are gathering at Central Park’s Strawberry Fields today to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Beatle’s death. Kind of ironic, considering what he told Rolling Stone in an interview (which was recently rediscovered in the author’s closet) three days before he was murdered: “I’m not interested in being a dead fucking hero.”
