To Replace Oprah, Anderson Ditches the ‘Cooper’

Oprah, Ellen, [Dr.] Phil. If you need a last name, you’re nobody on daytime TV. So when Warner Bros. announced the name of Anderson Cooper’s new daytime show, which has already been sold in 40 local markets, it’s no surprise they went with: Anderson. Miss Cooper, if ya nasty. The Oprah comparison was intentional as Warner Bros. makes a bid to sell Anderson to replace the talk-show queen’s spot. Although a number of stations have picked up The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Dr. Oz, or local news to fill the slot, two stations in California and one in Washington, D.C., opted for the silver fox, who will continue to host his evening show on CNN.
