John Roberts Jumps From CNN to Fox News

Last month, new CNN president Ken Jautz shook things up at his network’s early show, American Morning. He booted anchor John Roberts from the fourth-place cable news morning program and is apparently thinking of replacing him with reporter/stud T.J. Holmes. Roberts was set to move down to Atlanta to report as a national correspondent for CNN and to be near his pregnant fiancée, CNN Newsroom anchor Kyra Phillips. But according to Mediaite this morning, there’s been a change of plans: Roberts will instead report from Atlanta for rival network Fox News. Nabbing an award-winning hard-news journalist is a coup for the network, which struggles to differentiate from what it terms its straight news reporting and its prime-time opinion programs. Roberts, with his decades-long experiences at both CNN and CBS, will certainly help the network in that regard.
