It Is Not a Good Time to Own a Car in NYC

After a month of having to kowtow to the weather, the New York Parking Authority was back with a vengeance on Monday. The Parking Authority issued a spectacular 9,910 tickets — nearly double the number of tickets issued on a typical day — as alternate-side parking rules resumed. The city is itching to issue tickets after losing out on so much parking-related revenue. On a typical day, tickets can bring in around $241,000. On Monday, tickets netted $437,000. Drivers beware!
