Michele Bachmann Isn’t Sure About Massachusetts

Tea Party-er Michele Bachmann made a minor history gaffe over the weekend, when she accidentally confused New Hampshire with Massachusetts. Speaking to a group of conservative activists — with a tea bag in her hand — Bachmann told the crowd, “You’re the state where the shot was heard around the world in Lexington and Concord,” referring to the first shots of the Revolutionary War. Except, she’s wrong — the battle actually took place in Massachusetts.

Bachmann took to Facebook to defend her honor. “So I misplaced the battles Concord and Lexington by saying they were in New Hampshire,” she wrote. “It was my mistake, Massachusetts is where they happened. New Hampshire is where they are still proud of it!” You hear that, Massachusetts?
