Last week, elderly Hawaiian Jew Alvin Wong was identified as the happiest man in America, as dictated by polls and statistics and such. Now the Times has used the same methods to describe the least happy person in America:
Statistically speaking, the least happy American would be a 4’10”, middle-aged Muslim woman without children who is separated from her husband and earns under $12,000 a year. She’s also an unemployed manufacturing worker in West Virginia.
Wow, that does sound pretty miserable. Fortunately, we doubt someone embodying every one of these characteristics even exists. A Muslim in West Virginia!*
