After garnering a 17 percent approval rating, Cathie Black was ousted from her position as Chancellor of Schools Thursday morning. But that didn’t stop her from going on a major shopping spree. Black spent the day shoe shopping. “I went out and bought a new pair of running shoes today, so I’m off,” she said, while assuring reporters, “I’m fine, I’m fine.” As for her replacement, Dennis Walcott — “he’s a great guy,” said Black, who also said, “It’s been a great privilege to serve the city of New York and the mayor for three months,” she said. “I have loved the principals, the teachers, and the kids.” Perhaps Hearst has an opening for her?
