Talking Head Jonathan Alter Is the Last of the ‘Newsweek Six’ to Leave

Newsweek national correspondent Jonathan Alter e-mailed contacts over the weekend that “With changes afoot, my old Newsweek email addresses are now defunct.” Alter, the author of The Promise: President Obama, Year One, is the last member of the magazine’s camera-ready staffers, dubbed the “Newsweek Six” by Jack Shafer, to leave the newsweekly. He worked at the publication since 1983. Like Fareed Zakaria, now at Time, and Jon Meacham, now at Random House, the best-selling author is sure to land on his feet. [Politico]
