Over lunch in June 2007, Matthew Zames told John Hogan that Madoff’s returns “are speculated to be part of a Ponzi scheme.” Hogan later advised that the agenda of the meeting “never see the light of day.” Hogan is JPMorgan’s chief risk officer. Zames is widely considered “a young star who could snag the bank’s top job someday.” [NYT]
