The slow wheels of justice have finally caught up to two absolutely awful people. In Serbia, President Boris Tadic announced that a tip had led to the capture of Ratko Mladic, the long-sought Bosnian Serb general accused of leading the massacre of 8,000 Muslims in Srebrenica in 1995. At the same time, a United Nations court has revealed that Bernard Munyagishari, a Hutu militia leader alleged to have “recruited, trained and led Interahamwe militiamen in mass killings and rapes of Tutsi women” during the Rwandan genocide in 1994, has been arrested in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Some advice: If you’re a genocidal maniac wanted for unspeakable crimes against humanity about a decade and a half ago, today might be a good day to throw on a new wig, hop a bus to a random location, or just dig a spider hole somewhere secluded and sit in it for a while.
