On The View today, as the co-hosts reflected with actor Rob Lowe about how he reacted to the news of Osama bin Laden’s death Sunday night, he told a chilling story about how he learned he was actually on one of the “dry run” flights with all of the 9/11 hijackers just days before the terrorist attacks. It was while filming The West Wing that he was on the American Airlines Flight 77 from Washington, D.C., to Los Angeles — the flight that eventually was crashed into the Pentagon. (Actor James Woods also flew on one of several test flights with the hijackers.) Lowe says he remembers nothing abnormal about the flight and didn’t think of it again until a year and a half later when he was tapped to be deposed for the trial of Zacarias Moussaoui, who was eventually convicted for helping plot the attacks.
