Suspect in Long Island Drugstore Murders Pleads Not Guilty

David Laffer, the 33-year-old suspected pill addict charged with shooting four people to death, unprovoked, at a Medford, Long Island, pharmacy on Father’s Day while allegedly trying to score a bag of painkillers for his wife, who waited for him in a getaway car, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He has reportedly not been cooperating with detectives and has shown no remorse. Outside the courtroom, Suffolk County prosecutor John Collins said, “In my 30 years, this is the most cold-blooded robbery and homicide case that I have seen in this county.” [WSJ, NYP, Reuters]
