Marriage Equality in New York Just One Vote Away

Another Republican state senator, Roy McDonald from the Albany region, said today that he would vote to pass Governor Cuomo’s Marriage Equality Act if it comes to the floor in the next two days. That puts the tally at 31 officially in favor of the law, one away from the 32-person majority needed for passage. Three other GOP state senators told the Times a vote on the bill was “almost certain” and that it “would likely pass.” [City Room/NYT]
