That number’s nearly double the amounts that some of her expected competitors raked in: Public Advocate Bill de Blasio raised $675,000, while Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer and former comptroller Bill Thompson raised less than that. Quinn, a lesbian, was a key advocate for marriage equality. Standing alongside man-of-the-hour Governor Andrew Cuomo at the Pride Parade this year, she looked excellent.
