Esquire Tries Lighthearted Approach to Alleged DSK Rape, Fails

Hey, look, Esquire has tweeted one of the most insensitive things ever! Wow. That is really awful.

What makes it even worse is that they can’t even blame it on the fast and frenzied world of Twitter, where people often tweet jokes/penis photos they immediately regret. That’s because the tweet links to an article on blowjobs that contained a whole classless introduction, referencing the alleged rape of maid, Nafissatou Diallo. Someone took the time to write this out, and maybe even have it edited by one or more people:

Yes, the real tragedy is that DSK and/or Diallo were unaware of Esquire’s blowjob tips. How has everyone else missed this component of the scandal?

It didn’t take long for Esquire to erase the offending passage (without any acknowledgment that it ever existed, of course) and to delete the offending tweet. In fact, they went so far as to apologize, or whatever this is:

Sorry if you were offended,” by the way, is what people say when they don’t think they did anything wrong.
