Edwards, who made his name as a big-deal trial lawyer in North Carolina, was reportedly very serious last year about starting a public-interest law firm in New York with union/employment attorney Arthur Schwartz. (New York, you’ll remember, is where he met Rielle Hunter, so presumably the city holds a special place in his heart.) The two lawyers had scoped out office space, considered various potential employees, and even lined up bank loans.
