In a new Newsweek profile, Sarah Palin both implies that she’s still interested in running for president (“There needs to be a larger field. And there’s still time”) and that she’s not (“I’m not so egotistical as to believe that it has to be me, or it can only be me, to turn things around”). As those two competing sentiments cancel each other out, we will now devote the remainder of this post to Palin’s reaction to the price of Slim Jims:
Has the price of a Slim Jim really gone up about 170 percent “recently”? We haven’t bought a Slim Jim in about fifteen years, but that sounds impossible. Still, it’s just a meaningless anecdote. We may be skeptical, but is Palin’s knowledge of Slim Jims really an issue worth digging into? Yes, it is. Stay tuned.
