Expected and Unexpected: Dick Cheney’s Memoir Edition

Expected: According to his memoir, In My Time, which was “obtained” before its release next week by the New York Times, Dick Cheney urged President George W. Bush to bomb a Syrian nuclear reactor in June 2007. Nobody else agreed with him, but the facility was bombed months later by Israel anyway. Also expected: Cheney defends waterboarding and believes that there was “no need to apologize” for the ultimately false claim in the 2003 State of the Union address that “the British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa” — the infamous “16 Words.”

Unexpected: The Times reports:

That’s what Dick Cheney had a prolonged, vivid dream about? Not, like, slaying suspected terrorists and known peace activists with a giant axe while riding atop a tall, dark horse? Are we sure Cheney wasn’t being incepted?
