British comedian Jonathan May-Bowles, a.k.a. Jonnie Marbles, was sentenced today to six weeks in jail for hitting Rupert Murdoch with a foam pie during a hearing on the News Corp. phone-hacking scandal. Though Murdoch himself did not support the assault charge, Marbles was also slapped with a £15 victim surcharge and fined an additional £250. Mimicking Murdoch’s testimony, Marbles told the judge, “I would just like to say this has been the most humble day of my life.” Though he’s expected to serve only three weeks in prison, Marbles has also built himself a figurative jail, from which he’ll never escape: He’s forever the guy with the pie.
