Post: Some People at Adweek Don’t Like Michael Wolff

The New York Post has been building a narrative for a while now that investors at Guggenheim Partners are displeased with their investment in Prometheus Global Media, which publishes The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard, and Adweek. Their latest story claims that Adweek editor Michael Wolff might be on the chopping block because he’s been spending too much money, expressing himself too vocally, and not earning enough ad dollars. The story hinges upon the fact that his contract is up in September, but we recall hearing he got a multi-year contract when he signed on last October. Reporter Claire Atkinson didn’t get comment from Wolff because she said he was on vacation. We reached out to him, too, and he did not give comment except to say that he is not, in fact, on vacation.
