Former Secretary of State and apple of Muammar Qaddafi’s eye Condoleezza Rice is the latest to take issue with Dick Cheney’s new memoir, joining former colleagues Colin Powell and his chief of staff. Echoing Powell’s characterization, Rice said the book contains “cheap shots,” such as the insinuation that she cried to the former vice-president, “tearfully” admitting that he had been right in a dispute about whether or not the administration should apologize for the lack of WMDs in Iraq. “It certainly doesn’t sound like me, now, does it?” Rice said to Reuters. “I would never — I don’t remember coming to the vice president tearfully about anything in the entire eight years that I knew him.” It must have been another of those wacky Cheney fever dreams.
