People Would Rather Take the Train Than Pay Higher Tolls

Just about a week in, the Port Authority’s toll hike has been a great success — for PATH and NJ Transit, which have had higher ridership than usual, at least anecdotally. People are opting to take cheaper mass transportation rather than pay $9.50–$12 to drive into the city. Parking garages, according to the Post, have reported a sharp decrease in business as well.
