Facebook Promises FTC a Little More User Privacy

As expected, Facebook agreed to a settlement with the FTC today that includes no fine, but promises twenty years of consumer privacy audits as a result of the social network’s “unfair and deceptive” handling of user security. In response, Mark Zuckerberg put on his serious face and admitted to having made “a bunch of mistakes,” but claimed that “Facebook has always been committed to being transparent about the information you have stored with us.” Then he probably thought about the money again, and smiled.
