Muslim Cab Drivers Save Bankrupt Coney Island Kosher Bialy Store

Zafaryab Ali and Peerzada Shah, Pakistani immigrants, tasted their first real New York bagels at Coney Island Bialys and Bagels, the city’s oldest Jewish bagel shop, founded by a Polish immigrant in 1920. His grandson, Steve Ross, was nearly forced to close up shop, when Ali and Shah stepped in to take over the failing business, which they plan to keep kosher with some consulting from Ross.
