Virginia GOP Group Regrets Shooting Obama Through the Head

There are a few basic rules for Republicans when portraying President Obama in photos or art. Rule one: Don’t be overtly racist. Rule two: Don’t be overtly violent. And that’s it, actually.

Sticking to these rules really shouldn’t be too difficult. And yet:

The Republican Party of Virginia is strongly condemning an e-mail sent by Loudoun County’s GOP committee that shows President Obama as a zombie with part of his skull missing and a bullet through his head.

Yep. As part of an invitation to a Halloween parade, the Loudoun County GOP photoshopped President Obama as a zombie who has been shot in the face. After being condemned by the state Democratic Party, the state Republican Party, and Republican governor Bob McDonnell, they have decided that, in retrospect, it maybe wasn’t the most appropriate imagery.

Mark Sell, chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, backtracked and issued an apology.

To be fair to the Loudoun County GOP, though, you have to assume that Obama was only shot in the head after turning into a zombie. The Constitution is maddeningly vague on this, but we believe that, at that point, he would not be our president, but instead, just another mindless, half-dead monster with a taste for human flesh. Zombama was probably trying to eat a small child when someone shot him as a last resort. Afterward, according to the Walking Dead, the shooter then took part in a 45-minute heart-to-heart talk about the stresses of living in a world with zombies.
