Jon Huntsman needs to shore up his conservative credentials. Red State’s Erick Erickson, who wields untold power with the conservative base, really doesn’t like Mitt Romney, and is running out of options for alternatives. It’s the perfect meet-cute!
Erickson, who began turning his eyes Huntsman-ward in November, is featured prominently in Huntsman’s newest TV ad. Really prominently: As Ben Smith points out, five of the seven testimonials about Huntsman’s conservative credentials come from Erickson. Guess he’s not playing hard to get.
