Every Hotel Room in NYC Will Now Have a Panic Button

NEW YORK, NY - MAY 19: Former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Dominique Strauss-Kahn appears in State Supreme Court for a bail hearing on May 19, 2011 in New York City. A grand jury has indicted the former IMF leader in connection with an alleged sexual assault on a hotel maid. Strauss-Kahn’s bail hearing was granted. Per a pending agreement between the hotel management and the workers’ unions, panic buttons will be installed at all hotels, not just Sofitel and Pierre, where two recent high-profile alleged sexual assaults occurred. Both sides say it has nothing to do with the Dominique Strauss-Kahn case, but the Times’ Metro Desk already referred to it as a DSK button” in a tweet.
