It’s Not Easy Being … a New Leopard Frog Species

Eegad! There’s a new species of leopard frog in New York.

Some silly ecology Ph.D. candidates mistook this new species of leopard frog for the southern leopard frog (typical rookie mistake) until they began to notice the frogs’ distinctive croak. The southern leopard frog makes a repetitive chuckle; this was a lone cluck. Jeremy A. Feinberg, a doctoral candidate at Rutgers, and four other scientists have spent the last three years researching the new species. Now they’re ready to name it. Feinberg knows it’s no small task:
