Now that the Wisconsin primary is only four days away, Representative Paul Ryan — fresh off yesterday’s non-victory — has announced that he thinks Romney deserves the Republican nomination, calling him “the best person to beat the president.” (Generous of him, considering Romney’s sly dis of his budget plan last week.) The congressman also “laughed off” the idea that he’d decided to back Romney because he’d promised to make him his running mate: “No, that’s ridiculous. We’ve never discussed that at all,” Ryan said, with his signature “creativity.”
