Sue Simmons Out After 32 Years at Channel 4

Local WNBC/Channel 4 anchorwoman Sue Simmons will not have her contract renewed in June, Cindy Adams reports at the Post. Simmons is a four-time Emmy winner who started at the station in 1980, and with Chuck Scarborough, makes up half of “the longest-running anchor team in New York television history,” according to her friend Adams, who also notes that Simmons is “the top-paid anchorwoman at any local station in the country.” The complimentary column plainly questions the station’s choice: “Why? Nobody’s given us a reason.” (Scarborough is getting three more years.) We’ll give Simmons the last, foul word on the subject, aimed at her bosses:
