Cow That Escaped New Jersey Slaughterhouse Adopted by New York Man

There’s a happy ending to yesterday’s story about the rogue cow that made a daring escape from a slaughterhouse in Paterson, New Jersey. The cow has made its way up the New York State Thruway to the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary in Woodstock, New York, where it will live the rest of its days in relative peace, and if it’s lucky, see a rock concert in a few years. Animal rights advocate Mike Stura rescued the brave steer and brought it to the sanctuary that houses food-industry animals. “He’ll never end up on someone’s plate, that’s for sure,” Stura said of his new friend. As for the cow’s friends and family at the slaughterhouse, that’s an entirely different story.
