War on TelePrompTers Backfires on Marco Rubio

The strangest part of the GOP’s moronic war on TelePrompTers is that the same conservatives who so frequently mock President Obama for reading his speeches off of transparent screens will readily recite their own speeches from pieces of paper they have brought with them to the podium, as if that were any more impressive. Nevertheless, the Republican Party has now boxed itself in, relegating itself to note-reading despite its obvious drawbacks. Marco Rubio, who has chided Obama’s TelePrompTer use in the past, discovered one of those drawbacks during a foreign-policy speech at the Brookings Institute this afternoon: It’s easy to misplace a page.
