Tagg Romney Chastises Mad Men for George Romney Dig

Last night’s episode of AMC’s Mad Men featured a throwaway line that was not kind to the memory of former Michigan Governor George Romney, who just happens to be the father of current GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney. The dialogue in question, uttered by the character Henry Francis, an adviser to mid-sixties New York Mayor John Lindsay, is, “His Honor’s not going to Michigan, because Romney’s a clown and I don’t want him standing next to him.” So far, the only reaction from the Romney clan has come from Mitt’s son Tagg, who earlier this morning tweeted, “Seriously, lib media mocking my dead grandpa?” followed six minutes later by, “George Romney was as good a man I’ve ever known. Inspirational leader, worked for civil rights, promoted freedom. We need more like him.”
