Facebook IPO Is Just the Beginning, Says Paul Ford

In the Facebook IPO issue of New York, tech consultant and writer Paul Ford explained that we haven’t reached peak Facebook because the platform has become “essential to nearly every major web innovation now and in the future.” Ahead of the company’s public offering, he reiterates that point today to Reuters TV: “I think Facebook could have no more users, it could be done, you wouldn’t even have to get to a billion, and there’s still a zillion things it can do to make money,” Ford said. “It seems they have gotten past the question of ‘Is it cool or is it not?’” It’s cemented its place, he says, in the way volcanoes, humpback whales, and the New Deal have. “It’s hard to wrap your head around it, but it’s cool.”
