Forty-seven-year-old Maria Tripp was crossing south over Atlantic Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Thursday, only a few blocks from her home, when she was hit at around 4:50 p.m. by a west-bound black Chevy Impala operated by a secret service agent. Tripp reportedly went into cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at Interfath Hospital. “The Secret Service agent is one of our personnel from the New York field office,” agency spokesman Edwin Donovan said, adding that he believed the agent was on duty at the time of the accident.
