Nutley, New Jersey, resident Patricia Krentcil was arrested and charged with child endangerment recently after her 6-year-old daughter showed up to school with bad sunburns and told her teacher that she’d been tanning with her mom. The 44-year-old Krentcil, who posted a $2,500 bond, claims the whole thing is a misunderstanding — her daughter did go with her to the tanning salon, she says, but she would never allow her to actually tan. “I would never permit it,” she tells CBS News. “She’s six years old.”
It’s hard to know what really happened, but, for now, we’re going to take Krentcil at her word on this one. She just seems like she has a solid understanding of the proper limits of tanning.
