A domestic dispute between 35-year-old Riker’s Island corrections officer Shawn Bryan and his ex-girlfriend turned tragic on Monday when Bryan shot and killed a Springfield, Massachusetts police officer who responded to the woman’s 911 call. Bryan then shot his ex-girlfriend, Charlene Mitchell, and shot and killed himself. The deceased Springfield cop, Kevin Ambrose (at left), 56, was dispatched when Mitchell told a 911 operator that Bryan was nearby and she feared for her life. She had recently obtained a restraining order against Bryan, writing in her application, “He had always told me that he is crazy and that his head is not good.”
