Beloved author and filmmaker Nora Ephron, 71, is gravely ill, according to close family friends, and is not expected to last the night. Her agent Bryan Lourd told ABC News the illness is leukemia.
The news of Ephron’s illness broke this afternoon when Liz Smith, hit publish prematurely on an obituary for her friend on her site Wowowow, which is still up. “I won’t say, “Rest in peace, Nora,” she wrote at the end of a long remembrance. “I will just ask “’What the hell will we do without you?’”
