For a moment there, it looked like Orly Taitz, one of the nation’s most prominent and irritating birthers, could sneak away with the GOP senate nomination in California. But in the end, it wasn’t even close. Taitz finished in fifth place. This was Taitz’s second race — previously, in 2010, she had unsuccessfully attempted to become California’s secretary of state. So what’s next for Taitz? Probably running for office and losing again, we’re guessing.
