Here’s a Photo of Lightning Striking the Empire State Building Yesterday

(Keith Olbermann/Twitter)

As your half-melted brain might remember, it was raining really hard there for a while yesterday, which was great because for one brief, glorious instant, New York City was not unbearably, soul-crushingly hot. That passed, but not before lighting struck the Empire State Building, the spire of which is actually designed to serve as a lightning rod. Apparently, lighting hits the structure at least a 100 times a year, but we still think this photo is cool, and we are glad that intrepid Twitterer Keith Olbermann was on hand to take it.
