Last week, the Parks Department closed the restrooms in Washington Square Park to make way for the new $6.5 million facilities scheduled to open in summer 2013. Now park regulars are up in arms about the lack of accommodations, even though they tell DNA Info that the bathrooms were so “gross” that they’d usually go to McDonald’s or Starbucks instead.
