SANFORD, FL- APRIL 20: George Zimmerman sits on the stand during his bond hearing in a Seminole County courtroom on April 20, 2012 in Sanford, Florida. Bail was set at $150,000 for Zimmerman and he could be released from jail as early as April 21. (Photo by Gary Green/The Orlando Sentinel-Pool/Getty Images)
Perhaps inspired by a recent Florida state attorney’s report suggesting that his client might just be a huge hothead — as opposed to a blatant racist — defense lawyer Mark O’Mara has filed a motion to replace the judge currently assigned to Zimmerman’s second-degree murder trial. O’Mara claims that Judge Kenneth Lester has demonstrated bias against Zimmerman by making “gratuitous, disparaging remarks” about him at last week’s bail-setting.
