Police arrested a man Tuesday evening in connection with the brutal stabbing of a 25-year-old woman, which occurred earlier the same morning on a sidewalk at East 86th Street and Second Avenue, reports DNA Info. According to multiple accounts, Sabatha Tirado was walking with a friend in the Upper East Side neighborhood near the waxing salon where she works, when a man approached her and attempt to take her purse. She resisted. The man police described as an unshaven, fortysomething, homeless guy with an Afro, then stabbed Tirado in the torso with an eight-inch kitchen knife and fled with her purse. If the NYPD picked up the right man, his escape was short-lived. Tirado received non-life-threatening injuries and is currently in stable condition.
