Piers Morgan’s chair may be empty once again Tuesday night as another Republican congressman has bailed on the CNN host, this time Michele Bachmann. Last week, Todd “Legitimate Rape” Akin canceled on Morgan at the last minute, prompting the host to have a long conversation with a standard desk chair that Akin would have sat in. The Brit took Bachmann’s slight in stride on Twitter, which is more respectable than crying about it. He wrote: “First  now  - why are all these Republicans suddenly bailing on me? Is it my accent, my tie, my love of cricket?”

She wasn’t feeling well tonight, unfortunately,” Bachmann’s spokesman said of her no-show. “But we’re looking forward to a full day of activities tomorrow.” Okay, but she looked pretty lively on Fox News today. Speaking from the Republican convention, she made a nonsensical comment about Obama and female voters. “The gender gap, really, is with Barack Obama, because Mitt Romney wins with men … and also, with married women,” Bachmann said. “Barack Obama has an advantage with single women. What single women want more than anything is security. And they want to have, also, a job.”

On second thought, maybe she does need to rest.
