Trucks Plastered With Graphic Photos of Aborted Fetuses Are Circling Downtown Tampa!

Photo: Dan Amira /New York Magazine

Winding their way through the streets of Tampa this afternoon, courtesy of the anti-abortion group Created Equal, were two trucks prominently displaying photos of aborted fetuses. The images, which are apparently real, are extremely gruesome. One could argue that they are too gruesome, in fact, to be displayed in public, where passersby — including children — would have no choice but to see them. Of course, as Created Equal’s field director told a local news station recently, “The reason [the] photos are graphic is because abortion is graphic.”

As I snapped some photos, the driver of one of the trucks leaned out of the window and handed me a packet containing information on how abortions happen, as well as a small rubber fetus doll about the size of my thumb.
