It’s probably safe to say that whatever’s going on with this young lady goes well beyond teen angst. Authorities say that at 2 a.m. on Saturday a 15-year-old girl poured gasoline on the second floor of her Clayton, New Jersey home and lit it in an attempt to kill her family, according to the Daily News. Thankfully, smoke alarms woke the family up and they were all able to escape the home, though six family members were injured, including the young alleged arsonist.

The Associated Press reports that the 15-year-old had burns on her feet and another girl suffered a hip injury when she jumped from a second floor window to escape. A man and a 9-year-old were treated for burns to their feet and legs. The man’s wife and another relative, who helped get the rest of the family out of the house, are being treated for internal burns. A 6-year-old child in the home was unharmed.

After being treated at a local hospital, the teen was transferred to Camden County Juvenile Shelter and charged with two counts of aggravated arson and six counts of attempted murder. She’s scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
